Happy mail :)

I wasn't feeling well these past few days. I have a sore throat and I haven't been getting enough sleep; thus, I decided to be absent on my class today. The good news is the class got cancelled. So lucky~ ^_^

For more good news, my BornPrettyStore contest prize finally arrived in the mail! I immediately went out of bed and took pictures of it.

I won the Hello Kitty iPad cover and 12 striping tapes. I am actually shocked at the size of the striping tapes.   They are really small.

These are the 12 striping tapes with different colors each. They are really small and thin. They looked a whole lot bigger in the pictures. I thought they were bigger. I'm really excited to use these.

The Hello Kitty iPad cover is so cute! My mom got really excited when she saw this. Too bad I don't have an iPad to use it with. T_T

This is what it looks like inside :) So pink and pretty. :D

If you'd like to have your own Hello Kitty iPad cover and striping tapes, you can purchase them at

Here's a 10% off promo code for you.

That's it for this post. Thanks for reading! :)

Nail Art: Ice Age

I'm here again with another nail art. I am so happy that I can finally do my nails and blog about it. I am really busy with my review. But of course, I need to relax my mind once in a while. My way of relaxing is painting my nails. I just feel good after I do my nails especially if the nail art turns out good.

Anyway, my nail art for this week is inspired by the movie Ice Age. I watched the movie with my family and I really enjoyed it. I wanted to do my nails before watching the movie but I had no time but still, I was able to do it.

Here are the pictures of the nail art :)

That's it for this post :) Thanks for reading! :)

Nail Polish Haul For This Week

I have been buying quite a number of polishes for this week. I was able to buy 13 polishes for this week. The good thing is that most of them are really inexpensive. I'm always on the lookout for inexpensive polishes. The only expensive polish that I bought is from Tony Moly which is Php 158.00 and there's a story behind that.

These are the polishes that I bought this week.
I bought them on different days.

These are the LA Girl polishes that I bought. Each bottle costs Php 88. The left most polish is called Electric Guitar. I like this polish because it comes with assorted sizes of glitters. The glitters add texture to the polish and I love that effect. The next polish is called Groupie. I haven't tried it yet. I'll just to a separate post for the swatches. The next colors are Disco Ball and Phenomenon. They are your typical white and black polish. I love that it is opaque and it is not watery.

The next set of polishes is from 24k. These are the first 3 bottles I bought from this brand. They don't have color labels so I don't know what to call them. I've only used the one in the middle. It has irregularly shaped glitters which look good on a dark shade of polish. The one thing I don't like about the polish in the middle (since that's the only polish of the three that I've tried) is the smell. It has a strong smell and I'm afraid of using polishes like that.

These are the polishes that are really interesting. They are glitter polishes I bought at HB1 in NCCC Mall. It's of the brand AICS. I haven't really heard of that brand. The first thing that made me want to buy them is the glitters. The next thing is the price. It only costs Php 11.00 per bottle! I immediately bought 4 colors. I really can't wait to use these 4 polishes.

The next polish is from Bobbie. I don't know why I only bought 1 color. I was supposed to buy 3. This one is in the color Star Gazer. I used this on top of a very light pink polish and it looks good. Every stroke is very glittery. I'll buy the other colors next time. :)

This polish is from Tony Moly. I just bought it today. May I say that I unintentionally bought this. I just wanted to see the glitters when they are on the brush so I opened it. I didn't notice that there was a seal and when I opened it, it was already considered sold. :( I had no choice but to buy it. I was really going to buy it just not today. This is polish is the Glitter GS07 Silver Spangle. I do like the idea that the bottle is glitter filled. I can't wait to use this. :)

That's it for this post. I hope you enjoyed reading it! :) I'll just make a separate post for the swatches. :)

Nail Art: Dark Knight Rises

Hey everyone! :) It has been days since my last nail art post. I've been busy with my review. Today is our rest day thus I was able to paint my nails again. Yay! Dark Knight Rises will be shown on July 19 here in the Philippines. I'm so excited to watch it though I'm not really a Batman fan. I just like watching movies with good effects.

This day is a very happy day for me. My friend who is also a Big Bang fan sent me link of an article in MTV Style. I was so happy when I opened the link. My Big Bang nail art was featured, along with other BB nail arts, in an article in MTV Style. That post really made my day. :) Thank you, MTV Style. Here's the link for the article: MTV Style

Anyway, let's move on to my nail art for today.

If it is seen up close, it looks really messy. Haha. But I think it adds to the building effect the same as that of the movie poster. I don't know. I'm still proud of it.

I tried to make it as close as possible to the movie poster. It was really difficult to make the buildings realistic. I wish I was a good painter. Nevertheless, I'm still proud of this nail art.

That's it for this post. Thank you for reading! :)

Review: e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner

In one of  my previous posts, I mentioned there that I bought an e.l.f. cream eyeliner. The brand e.l.f. stands for eyes, lips and face. When I first found out what the brand means, I thought it was pretty creative and catchy. Recently, I just found out that this brand is animal friendly, meaning it does not test on animals which is great and amazing. Most cruelty-free cosmetics sell their products at a very high price but e.l.f. cosmetics sell theirs at a very low price. Some of their make up only costs $1. After finding out the good things about this product, I immediately got interested in it. Thus, resulting to my first purchase - the cream eyeliner in black.

This is the first cream eyeliner I've ever bought. I wanted to try gel/cream liners and I saw this at the mall. It comes in this packaging and it's worth Php 249. The cream liner is inside a transparent pot container. I like the fact that you could actually see how much of the product is inside and it's really a lot. Your Php 249 is really worth the price. I believe this product will last me months. :)

It also comes with a small brush. Don't bother using the brush. I really find it difficult to use because it's small and the bristles are not that firm. This eyeliner is also smudge-proof and waterproof - two things that really urged me to buy this. No one wants panda eyes or raccoon eyes when wearing your make up. This product is really smudge-proof which is why I love it. I always have that problem of rubbing my eyes and forgetting that I have eyeliner on. I end up having black dots on my lids. This eyeliner definitely prevents that.

This is the swatch that I made. I tried to smudge it and remove it with water. It still won't budge. However, I did notice that after doing the said things, the swatch became slightly less opaque but nothing a little touch-up won't fix.

  • Smudge-proof
  • Waterproof
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to spread because of the creamy texture
  • Doesn't dry easily (make sure you really close the container after using)
  • Readily available in the Philippines
  • Brush is difficult to use and doesn't spread the eyeliner well
  • I won't be buying this again (doesn't mean I don't like it) for the reason that I would like to try other brands and compare them. However, I would definitely recommend this cream eyeliner to  those who are wondering if they should try it or not. It's definitely worth your money. :)

Nail art: Nyan Cat

My review starts tomorrow and that will really lessen my time for nail arts. :( But I have to focus on my review. My future depends on this. Hwaiting! Of course, I will still be able to post my nail art designs but not as often.

The design I did today is Nyan Cat. A follower asked me to do it and I gladly agreed. I don't really know why this cat has a sandwich for a body. Not even sure if it's a sandwich. Nyan cat is pretty easy to do. I got a bit bored with this after I finished drawing the cat. I repeatedly made the rainbow on 3 nails. I originally decided to paint the rainbow on all remaining nails but I got bored. For the last two nails, I was supposed to make the galaxy nail design using the sponge method but I failed. It looked horrible and messy so I painted it again with blue polish.

Here are the photos of the nail art.

Look at her body. It's like a pink jelly sandwich. Haha. By the way, this cat, has a song. You can search it on Youtube to hear it. :)

Over the blue polish, I used my LA girl green flakie polish. It gives it a more galaxy-ish look to it.

I believe that this nail design belongs to the easiest and cutest nail design I've ever made.

I would love to hear what you think of this nail design. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to comment :)

That's it for this post. Thanks for reading. :)

Nail Art: Akazukin Chacha

For 3 consecutive days, I had my hospital duty in the delivery room. I didn't have time to blog nor do nail art. I'm so happy that I've finally completed my cases and I now have time to do some nail art. My dad also bought me the E-6000 industrial glue which I will use for my next decoden. I'm thinking of doing a Hello Kitty decoden. I hope I can do justice to Kitty. Haha.

Anyway, the nail art I did is Akazukin Chacha. I used to watch this anime when I was still in grade 1, I think. It was actually my favorite anime back then.

Here's a brief intro about the anime:
Akazukin Chacha is the story of a young magical girl named Chacha. She lives in a cottage on Mochi-mochi Mountain with Seravy, her guardian and teacher, who is the fictional world's greatest magician. At the beginning of the anime, when Chacha is about to begin school, Seravy gave her a pendant called the Princess Medallion, and a magical bracelet and ring to Riiya and Shiine respectively. The Princess Medallion enables Chacha to transform into the Magical Princess, who can defeat Daimaƍ's minions, when she shouts the phrase "Let Love, Courage and Hope -- Magical Princess Holy Up!". However, the transformation works only if the three of them get together. (Wikipedia)
Enough about the intro, let's move on to the nail art.

I only painted the main characters -- Chacha, Riiya and Shiine (L to R). I also painted the medallion and some glittery stripes for the remaining two nails.

The one in the middle is supposed to be the medallion but it looks ugly. Haha. My nail art pen went crazy. It kept on squirting gold polish even though I wasn't squeezing the pen. I just tried to make the medallion look good but I failed. T_T
For the last two nails, I just used my glitter polishes and made diagonal lines with it. I actually love how they turned out. I'll do this on my nails soon. :)

That's it for this nail art. I hope you liked it!

San San Polishes + Swatches

When I was walking around the mall yesterday, I checked some stores and stalls to see if they had nail polishes. I was so happy when I went to HBC. I was about to leave the store when I saw their nail polish collection. They sell many colors at a low price. Each 12ml bottle costs PHP 37.00 so that's less than $1! I really get excited when I find cheap polishes but of good quality. I bought 3 bottles (though I wanted to buy more). I'll just buy more when I go to the mall again. I'll be reviewing soon for the nursing board exam and I'm very happy that my review center is near the mall. Well, it's actually in front of the mall. Yay! More polishes for me!!

These are the polishes that I bought. It's of the brand San San. My sister used to have a bottle with this brand but that was a long time ago. I never knew that it can be found at HBC. I only found out about it yesterday. Going back to the polishes, I chose these three because I like their color. The right most bottle is called Emerald Green and I think it would look great with my LA girl rock star green glitter polish. The middle one is called Blush Pink. It's not really a pink polish as the name says. It's more of a dark red polish with brown. The last one is Brick Red. It's like a mix of brown and red but more of brown.

These are the swatches of the three polishes. I'm sorry if the two colors (blush pink and brick red) have ugly swatches at the bottom. The polishes are opaque with just one or two coats. I just accidentally put too much polish that's why it's like that. But it's really opaque. The base for all three is white. I wanted the real color to show.  That's it for the polishes :)

Anyway, I'm happy to say that I won the BornPrettyStore June Nail art contest. :) I won a Hello Kitty iPad cover and 8 striping tapes. I would like to thank all those who have voted for me. Thank you so much. I'll post about the prizes that I've won once I receive them.

Oh, before I forget, I also bought E.L.F.'s cream eyeliner in black and some E.L.F. brushes yesterday. I'll make a review about the eyeliner soon. :)

That's it for this post. :) Thank you for reading! :)

Nail Art: Fourth of July

Before I say something about my nail art, here's a quick information about the Fourth of July:
Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States. (Source: Wikipedia)
This nail art is for the Fourth of July. No, I'm not an American, neither do I have American blood in me. I'm 100% Filipino and I just thought it would be cool to do a nail art of this. I've been seeing pictures on instagram about this day so I just decided to make a nail art of it.
I chose to paint this on false nails because I wanted my nails to have a rest from all the polishes I put. Hooray for clean nails! :)

This is what I came up with. The idea of the nail art is to put blue, red and white stripes, and stars (or dots if you're too lazy to draw stars, like me).

As you can see, I did draw the stars at first then I started to just put silver dots. It still looks cute, though.

Polishes used:
These are the polishes that I used. I love LA colors. I bought the polishes at a low price and I seriously love their colors.
I'm not really a fan of Caronia. The white is not that opaque and I don't like the texture of the polish. But it will do, since I don't use white too much. I'm not really sure if there is something wrong with the polish or it's just me, but after a few uses of Caronia polishes, the polish becomes too gooey. I'll try to use more of this polish to figure that out. It could be that I'm doing something wrong.
What I don't like about Bobbie polishes is their brush. It's too thick and I find it hard to control the brush because of that. I have small nails and I prefer polishes with thin brushes. However, that doesn't mean I will no longer buy Bobbie polishes. They have many colors to offer at a very low price. The brush is just a small downside that I'm willing to ignore. :)

That's it for this post and for my Fourth of July nail art. I hope you liked it! :)
